Operation Frontline Final Day
June 4, 2010 No CommentsLast week Kitchen on Fire graduated its first Operation Frontline class. It was a joyous final class where students discussed what they learned over the course of the six classes and how their lives had been impacted. All of the students claimed to have gained valuable information on how to cook easy and healthy meals with a variety of new ingredients that provide valuable nutrition. They also learned many new shopping tricks and said that they’d use much smarter strategies when buying food for their families in the future.
In order to celebrate, participants made a delightful lunch that consisted of grilled turkey burgers with cheddar cheese and fresh-made pesto. To accompany the burgers, the class also made some spicy sweet potato oven fries that impressed the entire group.
Although it was sad to see the first class go, everybody was thrilled that they had done the program and that the chefs at Kitchen on Fire are going to continue teaching more Operation Frontline groups on a regular basis.
